After the fiasco at Ratskeller it was nice to at least be nodded at bar bartender. English menu is a plus for me as my German hasn't been used in 15 years...
Ordered John Benton soup to start. Tomato based and spicy. A bit cooler than I'd like but good flavor. (3.2)
Side salad came before main course and was unimaginative (iceberg, tomato, cucumber and mushroom) with a watery dressing. (2.0)
Norwegian salmon on a creamy thyme infused dressing was delicious. The boiled potatoes were great firmness but a bit salty. (4.0)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cynthia V.Dallas, United States411720 Nov 2015
Coming from Dallas (city of all kinds of amazing dishes) it was difficult for me to find food that met my boujie standards in Germany. John Benton saved my life in that category. French like ambiance, friendly staff, quick service and of course delicious steaks. I had the junior sirloin with a side of corn on the cob (so buttery and tasty) and some red wine. Everything was perfect. Very recommended place if you want something familiar to America or just a nice juicy steak ! Loved it !
