This is a really vibrant and lively new gym if you want to work out.Transformed a few years ago from an Argentinian Tango Dance Centre it attracts a mixed class of people from the local area. There are drop-in sessions as well as 6 -week fitness course at affordable reasonable prices.

Nicely run little gym. I've never joined one before but as far as I can tell the facilities seem good, and the classes are excellent.

I am shocked and appalled by the treatment I received this morning at the Factory Gym and Dance, but relieved that I see from reviews I am not the only person to have had such a bad experience. I rang up last night and booked myself in to try a Zumba class this morning and was due to meet Lee, the sales person, afterwards to talk about membership. My first impressions on entering the club were poor: Alex the manager was on the phone for at least 5 minutes while I was waiting. He did not acknowledge my presence. When he came off the phone, he made a face at the phone, did not smile at me or apologise for keeping me waiting. He did not ask how he could help me but just stared silently at me. I introduced myself and told him why I was there. He could not find me in the system and called Lee. Similarly, Lee did not smile, introduce himself, offer a handshake or ask how he could help me. He seemed rather grumpy and asked if I had a leaflet (I did not know anything about leaflets). After another few minutes of unsatisfactory communication, I asked Lee if I could have a private word and expressed my disappointment at the first impressions I'd received on entering the club. Lee said: You obviously don't know how it works here. We don't let everyone join. You are not welcome to join get out. I was shocked and embarrassed (this was in front of other members). I had been on the premises for less than 10 minutes, had spoken politely and had not raised my voice. He marched me to the front desk where he told Alex to throw me out. I asked Alex whether he wanted to hear my side of the story and he said No, just get her out. It seemed so absurd that I really didn't know whether to laugh or cry. When I got home, I googled the club and saw that there had been many dissatisfied customers, mainly because of the way they had been treated by the staff. I am very surprised that Time Out have given this gym 5 stars. I am now looking for other places that offer dance classes in North London.
