Made a reservation for my family of 9 to eat here Christmas Eve. Service was excellent along with the food. We had the pasta, risotto, pizza, steak and all was delicious as was the desserts. Highly recommend.

Really good Italian good! I had the minestrone soup and risotto. It was perfect for a cold and rainy day!
The servers were very nice and made sure everything was alright.
I got the crunchy lemon merengue Sunday, and it was amazing!
Will 100% be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 13 Jul 2019
We were looking for an Italian restaurant during our visit and saw the review for the place and we had a very nice dinner. We were seated without a reservation which was surprising and the maitre d was very welcoming.
For starters we had the Aracini and Panzanella salad. The Aracini were filled with bolognese and had a spicy tomatoes sauce. They were perfectly fried and full of flavor. Not a lot of spice but enough to cut through the fry. The salad was an excellent version of the dish, with capers and peppers in addition to the standard bread, mozarella, and tomato. It had an excellent balasamic and oils dressing. Our only suggestion was using a more flavorful tomatoe like a campari versus the beef steak.
The mains were chicken wrapped in ham and squid ink risotto with calamari. Both dishes were excellent. The chicken was moist and the ham added a depth of flavor. The squid ink risotto was a perfect risotto which is even harder with squid ink so we were very impressed. The squid was soft and perfectly prepared as well. The flavors were complex and a blend between the sea and a slight level of spice/heat. Very delicious.
In general the wait staff was good with our main waiter Manuel was very attentive and helpful. But one of the assistants was rude with us many of the tables. And some of the others were not as friendly, which was off putting at first but once Manuel took over things improved.
Overall, it was a great meal and we definitely recommend it. Usually plan on reservations but you can try with out them and you may get lucky as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David C.West Palm Beach, United States169914911 Apr 2019
It was cold, it was dark, and I was hungry. I walked by Vittoria with no real expectations aside that it looked nice from the window. When I walked in I felt like I had walked out of Scotland and in to Italy. That's not a shot at Scotland just surprised.
The dining room was nice and clean, they had gelato at the bar area, and the dishes coming out all looked very good. Most entrees were about 12-15 pounds and seemed to have very fresh artisanal ingredients. My table had a few different pasta dishes and all were done very well.
If you are in Scotland and are looking for something different this place is worth a try.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nishtha P.Los Angeles, United States22211516522 Oct 2019
Vegetarian Options: Plenty of options, but the ravioli I had here was the best ravioli I have ever had in my entire life. We started our meal with the assortment of fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic, which I highly recommend. My cousins got the gnocci for their main course. The gnocci was pillowy and covered in a fresh savory tomato sauce. Finally we finished our meal with 3 affogatos and took home our leftovers for some late night snacking. We had been travelling through Ireland and Scotland for two weeks, and this was our last (and BEST) meal we had while there.
Service: The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We were never left waiting and always had someone checking on us.
*Note for fellow Americans* It is not customary for restaurant staff to leave your check on your table for you soon after your food comes out. If you don't ask for it, they will never bring it. We sat here and hung out an hour after our meal was over before we realized this. They actually don't rush you to get out, its so nice!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul E.Covina, United States8106125 Nov 2018
Great place for pizza while in Scotland. From the moment you enter this place, the service is great. Pizza was very fresh and delicious as well. Will definitely come back.

This was probably the most memorable and best Italian food I ever had... ever! And it was by far the best meal of our 13-day trip through Ireland and the UK. I wasn't expecting much since it was an included meal on our tour, but I now rave about how amazing everything was at this restaurant - from their food and drinks to their service and level of professionalism. Everything seemed to work out perfectly. Their bruschetta was the best I've had, their pasta was perfect! Their beef dish fell off the bone, it was so tender and moist. I can't wait to go back to that city, one reason being because of this place! One thing to note is it's right next door to the Elephant House, renowned for the spot where JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter.

At first I came here because it was convenient, as it is across the street from where I was staying. I came back because it was AMAZING. Both times I felt treated like I was a regular and the food was exceptional. RUN, don't walk, to this true Italian gem in the heart of Edinburgh.
Tip: they will do half portions of the pasta if you ask. As a solo traveler, this was wonderful for me, allowing me to try more than one dish. Trust me, you'll want to try more than one!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cheryl C.London, United Kingdom5433646430 May 2010
Vittoria Restaurant on Leith Walk has been around since the 1970s, which I think is brilliant, as it makes this a bit of an Italian legend on the Leith Walk/city centre scene.
The focus here is traditional quality Italian food straight up, so if you want a hearty portion of your favourite traditional pasta dish, or just a taste of something that is wholeheartedly home cooking, then Vittoria is your place. Being family owned, the feel of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, and the staff are cheery, friendly, and ever the Italian charmers. You just get that no nonsense, community, relaxed vibe about the place, so you always feel entirely comfortable coming in for a meal. There's an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, so you won't be stuck for options, even if you're a super fusspot when it comes to eating out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
