Zhing-Sam

Absolut empfehlenswert!
Wir waren letzte Woche im Zhing-Sam essen und hatten dort einen richtig tollen Abend.
Das Restaurant liegt im Herzen der Südstadt und bietet thailändische sowie vietnamesische Spezialitäten an.
Beim Betreten des Lokals fällt die liebevolle Einrichtung direkt ins Auge. Mit seiner vielfältigen Speisekarte entführt das Zhing-Sam in den Fernen Osten. Frische Zutaten, hübsch angerichtete und qualitativ hochwertige Speisen.
Die Bedingungen sind freundlich und zuvorkommend. Authentische Speisen, angenehmes Ambiente.
Insgesamt ein gemütliches Restaurant, in dem ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt habe. Eine Bereicherung für die Südstadt. Ich komme gerne wieder!

It was 103 degrees in Cologne the day that we came here and they didn't have air conditioning, just a big fan, so it was pretty hot! The food was decent though. Spring Rolls and Fresh Rolls were good. Stir Fry Noodles and Red Curry were also good. The Tom Yum Goong wasn't bad but was disappointed that they didn't have sticky rice to go with it. The Laab Gai was just meh. Cocktails were amazing and the service was adequate. A cool gesture they do is to serve a complimentary shot of plum wine when your check arrives.

I love this Vietnamese/Thai restaurant. It is one of my favourite go to place to celebrate anybody's birthday. The small family restaurant is always busy and the staff are always lovely. the lady who owns the restaurant speaks Thai/Vietnamese/Cantonese/German/English and always does the check backs to make sure all her guests are enjoying themselves.

The dishes are always generously portioned and I don't do this often, but I would recommend a duck main course here - the duck is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, which is rare when other Asian restaurants stir fry it in dishes. For starters, the Mix Starter is always a bit fancy because you get to char your own skewered chicken and beef as much as you like before slathering on the peanut sauce! The Nem (Vietnamese spring rolls served with lettuce and fresh herbs) is always a good choice. I've had the Pho Bo Tai (rare beef Vietnamese Pho) here from the specials menu and loved it's fragrant and authentic flavours. My favourite main course has got to be the Roll-It-Yourself Summer Rolls. You get a hot dish of the main filling, but you're provided with the rice paper sheets, rice noodles, fish sauce, lettuce, cucumber, beansprouts and fresh herbs to create your own refreshing main course. I have never been able to finish this main course on my own! A recent visit reminded me that I have duties as a Yelper to tell you about this place!

You don't expect to find this restaurant on this street. We had never noticed it before. After seeing some of the images on Yelp!, I decided it was worth a try. We went on a Friday night and called shortly before we arrived to get a seat. When we got there, there was not a single open table.

The staff was friendly and a bit awkward- funny. I'm not sure they understood half the things I said... but that's probably because I said too much.

The food was good, but nothing outstandingly memorable.

Parking is relatively easy to find in the evening.

Geht kaum besser! Ich bin schon immer ein großer Fan der asiatischen Küche gewesen und habe diese in vielen Ländern gekostet. Dabei hab ich selten so Leckeres erlebt wie hier. Besonders die Soßen sind für uns jedes Mal ein Highlight. Die Portionen fallen auch sehr üppig aus. Habe es noch nie zu einer Nachspeise geschafft außerdem kann man durch eine Öffnung in der Wand in die Küche reinschauen, was ich persönlich immer sehr vertrauenserweckend finde. Da ich nur 100 Meter weiter wohne ist das meine Adresse Nr.1!!!
