Sue’s 5-star review:
It's really sad to see Seafood Sam's get such negative reviews on Yelp! And you know why? It's because it holds a dear place in my heart! I've been going here with my family since I was but a wee child, and lots of happy, stuffing-my-face-with-fried-seafood, overeating-esque memories were made at Seafood Sams. We'd look forward to it every summer.
Just to make sure my sentiments weren't ALL because of nostalgia, I made sure to eat at Seafood Sam's at least one more time before penning out this review. And so, I stopped by last Saturday evening for dinner with my parents after a day-trip to the Cape, and low and behold, everything was delicious as always.
Surprise, surprise.
I honestly think Seafood Sam's has the perfect fried-seafood recipe down. The batter is perfectly light and crispy with an attractive golden color after being fried. My Fried Fisherman's platter came out heaping with portions oysters, haddock, shrimp, scallop, and onion rings. Lobster Roll is generous and stuffed with plump lobster meat in a light mayonnaise-lemon dressing. The Clam Chowder is the perfect ratio of meaty and creamy. Awesome 'slaw and fries. Really. just. can't. go. wrong. here. and I always get so excited at the prospect of eating here.
Oh, and they've got beer and wine! What is better with fried seafood than an ice cold beer? Nothing, my friends, nothing at all. Well, unless you're my Dad who got a little bottle of chardonnay. Whatever. Something for me, something for him -- we both left in a food-coma stupor, which is all that really matters anyways. There is not much better that I have had.
Seafood Sam's, y'all got a loyal lifetime customer in me. Forget the haterz out there!
