If your a fan of the Latte then you'l love nicks as they always get the milk just perfect - silky smooth with no soapy foam! These guys just keep it simple and stick to what they are really good at (coffee!).
Well you could not swing a cat in here nor should you ever swing a cat anywhere as that is not cool. My mother's country sayings have been impressed upon me since childhood, such as "sure he is as queer as two left shoes." Indeed. So far I have offended animal rights folks and gay rights folks - my Mam is actually really nice and liberal and loves animals and gay folk. Golly I go on a tangent sometimes. So yup this place is tiny. There is just enough room for you and Nick to make your coffee transaction. A lady came in whilst I was waiting for my coffee and there was a lot of uncomfortable body touching and, "Sorry." "Sorry." "Excuse me can I just get by you." "God I am so sorry." "No you're grand I am sorry." "Very sorry." So the coffee is good! He is obviously passionate about his craft and for such a small place he has crammed a lot of bean variety in there. He also appears to have a loyal following and I love the local friendliness of it. There is a table outside and he has pastries too. Yay! I'm a fan!
Great little coffee kiosk in Ranelagh, was so glad it popped up recently, the coffee and little biscuity things are great and the owner seems like a decent bloke who deserves to do well, I always try to get there once or twice a week, if you live in or are near the area support these sort of places and not the big chains! Edit; Its still going strong 3 years after my original review, whilst Starbucks is long gone, great news!
Firstly, let me state that i can't function properly without a caffeine hit. I've gotten where I am today (succesful art career, self secure) thanks, in part, to the help of the little black bean. so needless to say, I know a good cup from a bad cup (starbucks). this first thing to hit you about Nick's place is the aroma of freshly ground beans emanating from their miniscule and unassuming kiosk. Emma behind the counter, i'm assured, makes a mean cup of cappucino, but, alas, I am, a straight black man. No milk, no sugar, just coffe thanks y'all. I need it strong, i want the spoon to stand up in my coffee (not literally, thanks emma) and Nick's coffee delivers. I am passionate (as well as art and coffee) about recycling and the take-away cups here can be recycled at home with ease.
Beautiful coffee. Great craic when it starts raining & everyone huddles in. Lots of friends to be made! What more could you ask for..
a coffee on way to the office.... a bit of cafeine in the morning ......good quality.....
This is my morning takeaway coffee spot. A simple and friendly stop with well made coffee for a reasonable price. Its a tiny kiosk so not really a sit down with the laptop sort of place but great for good coffee on the go. Also try the fruit and nut flapjack...simple healthy deliciousness.
Nick's Coffee Company has a stall inside the Ranelagh Village Market but now also runs a espresso bar right at the entrance. There is no seating - just take away. The coffee is excellent and arguably the best in Ranelagh. As his A-board prompts - you decide. If you like your coffee, you won't be disappointed.
